Overview
True Differential Measurement
The chroma+scan 3000 family of multi-point sensors provide high speed, high density 3D scanning for profiling objects moving in line. Each sensor projects 76 separate laser spots on the surface, with 3D profile data provided for each laser point.
The chroma+scan 3000 sensors are available in models for 3D profile only as well as models providing both 3D profiles and 2D surface images for applications requiring analysis of surface features such as automated defect detection.
For larger objects, chroma+scan 3000 sensors can be mounted end to end for a very large field of view, while maintaining the same high accuracy. The laser spots from the 3000 family are coplanar so they can be aligned top-to-bottom and side-to-side down the length of the system for true differential measurement.
Features
Real World Coordinates
Whether a single sensor or multiple sensors that are combined into a system, this scanner system is smart enough to combine all of the data and output real world X, Y, Z coordinates as a single system. All that is required is a simple automated setup process to a known target. Simple, Fast, Straightforward.
Coplanar Scanning
The chroma+scan 3000 sensors can be aligned co-planar top-to-bottom and side-to-side down the length of the system for true differential measurement. This prevents profile measurement errors that could be introduced by hard-to-control mechanical realities such as chain vibration and boards bouncing as they are transported through the scanner system.
High Scan Rates
The chroma+scan 3000 sensor family provides scan rates of 2000 Hz. While maintaining excellent dark wood performance (equivalent to level 19 on the Kodak gray scale chart), insensitivity to laser saturation, and immunity to ambient light.
Temperature Compensation
Chroma+scan 3000 sensors are factory calibrated at several temperature points in their operational range to ensure reliable and accurate range measurement throughout changes in ambient temperature.
No Need for Field Calibration or Optical Alignment.
Sensor accuracy is dependent upon the mechanical - optical relation of the lasers and cameras inside each sensor. LMI 2000 Family sensors are pre-aligned and calibrated over temperature eliminating the need for this in the field. These sensors provide 3D profiles with real world coordinated right out of the box. This saves you time and makes installation and maintenance fast and easy.
