Job Summary

Our ongoing growth has resulted in the need for an intermediate QA engineer to take on the testing effort for one of our key geometry acquisition and processing software packages. As part of LMI's agile development team you will work with several software engineers to develop and document comprehensive test cases for various software features.

In addition to creation and manual execution of test cases, you will be also responsible for automating a portion of the testing process by developing scripts which exercise public APIs and other various components of the software. You will work with other members of the team in all QA test phases such as requirements validation and Unit/Integration/Release testing.

Successful candidates should be professional, resourceful, and can work well autonomously yet still communicate effectively with a close-knit group of about 10 engineers.

Required skills or experience:
  • Experience with C/C++ and Visual Studio
  • Experience with at least one of: Ruby, Python, Batch
  • Experience with Source Control Systems
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, TravisCI, CruiseControl or other continuous integration systems
  • A keen attention to detail and the ability to detail bugs in an easy to understand format
  • Ability to think creatively to develop new test cases and maintain old ones
  • Ability to work in a teams and be accountable for your performance and documentation
  • Superior English communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Degree / Diploma in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
Skills of value
  • Experience developing automated tests and test systems.
  • Experience with C# and .NET Framework
  • Experience with optical measurement systems
  • Experience with Agile development processes
  • Mechanical skill and experience using power/hand tools for building/maintaining test jigs, brackets, etc
  • Experience using electrical analysis tools such as an oscilloscope, multimeter, and signal generator.
