Overview

The DynaVision chroma+scan 3150 sensor integrates high density profiles and fast scan rates to help optimize the value of each board. Built for coplanar scanning, this sensor will provide you with impressive data accuracy.

TRUE COPLAR SCANNING

A high density multi-point sensor mounted in a true coplanar configuration to give you the most complete profile possible.

HIGH DENSITY SCANNING

Achieve better cutting decisions by collecting large amounts of profile data that will generate a complete model of a board.

FAST SCAN RATES

Designed to produce highly accurate and reliable data for today's fastest machine centers.

SCALABLE PLATFORM

Built to perform with our LMI FireSync™ platform, providing you with the flexibility to integrate multiple scanning technologies into a network of sensors for data delivery via Gigabit Ethernet.

Applications

chroma+scan 3100 sensor used to scan wood for a trimming application.  3D profiles measured every 0.3" along the lumber length and 40 readings/inch across the board top and bottom.

For example, a 20' long x 6" wide (nominal) will result in > 387,000 3D measurements to evaluate the size for the highest recovery.  This detail of information allows the best length trim decision for value at piece rates up to 200 boards per minute.

This installation is running at approximately 100 boards per minute.

Features

The DynaVision chroma+scan 3150 sensor integrates high density profiles and fast scan rates to help optimize the value of each board. Built for coplanar scanning, this sensor will provide you with impressive data accuracy.

Coplanar Scanning

All laser points are in line, or coplanar.  This provides all data in the same scan plane during measurement with no requirement to realign data which is important in data registration of web applications.   A single plane also results in a very narrow scan zone making it easier for installation.

True Differential Scanning

Coplanar scanning also allow for the true differential scanning where the upper and lower rows of lasers are in the same plane.  This makes the thickness profiles extremly accurate and most important not subject to errors caused by material vibration in situation where the top and bottom scan planes are offset in the direction of travel

Factory Calibrated, Linearized and Temperature Compensated

Each sensors are fully calibrated and linearized in our factory on precision benches.  This means that the sensors can be mounted onto your scan frame and a simple reference process of passing a target of knows dimension through the sensors to establish the real world coordinate offset is all that is required.  This ensures that your system will operate optimally from head to head and systems to system.  This also elimates the tedious process of field calibration and the variations that can occur.  Additionally, the sensors are temperature compensated over their full operating range to ensure the linearity is maintained.

Industrial Enclosures

These sensors are IP67 and designed for industrial applications in harsh environements.  These are purpose built and go well beyond sensors that are designed for lab only or controlled envirements.
