Overview
The LxS are a family of dedicator sensors that offer performance and value.
LBS: Laser Beam Sensors to very precisely locate an edge location.
LDS: Laser Displacement Sensors to measure distance with high speed and accuracy.
LTS: Laser Twin Sensors to measure displacement with very high speed with nanometer resolution.
LBS (Beam)
Fast and Rugged
The Laser Beam Sensor (LBS) uses a separate emitter and receiver. A laser beam is projeted from the emitter and through a series of lenses which collimates the beam. The beam shape is determined by factory set diaphragms, which can be selected by the user to fit their application. The portion of light emitted that reaches the receiver depends on the dimensions of the object in the light beam. The measurement resolution of the detector is 1000 steps in either direciton at measurement rates up to 10 kHz. The LBS outputs 4 - 20 mA corresponding to the amount of beam detected. The LBS is suitable for accurate edge detection for such applications as determining material width and thickness or wire thickness.
Beam sizes (W x H) are from 1 x 2 mm up to 1 x 24 mm with corresponding typical resolutions from 0.0002 to 0.005 mm and separation distance of 1000 mm.

LDS (Distance)
Accurate and Affordable
The Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) is a high speed laser triangulation device to measure distance from the sensor to the target surface offering both value and high performance. The single laser is collimated to a small spot size to ensure is maintains accuracy and linearity over the full range with scan rates of 30 kHz, optional to 100 kHz. The high data rates can be used in applications including vibration, material testing and engine valve dynamics.
Measurement ranges from 10 to 45 mm with corresponding resolutions from 0.001 to 0.0045 mm.

LTS (Distance: Twin Detectors)
Fast Gain Control to Measure Changing Surfaces Accurately
The Laser Twin Sensor (LTS) is a high speed laser triangulation device to measure distance to the target surface that offers very high performance with unique features. The single laser spot is finely collimated to maintain accuracy and linearity over the full range with scan rates of up to 200 kHz. The laser point is measured by two opposing detectors eliminating any effect from surface color changes. This sensor is designed for high accuracy thickness and profiling applications.
Measurement ranges from 1 to 20 mm with corresponding resolutions from 0.00025 to 0.002 mm. All this at the full bandwidth.
